Carson highlight
California State University, Dominguez Hills
California State University, Dominguez Hills, founded in 1960, serves over 14,000 students on a 346-acre campus in Carson.

CSUDH opened in Carson in 1960 and conferred its first degrees in 1967, becoming a cornerstone of higher education in Los Angeles County. The university occupies 346 acres at 1000 East Victoria Street and enrolls more than 14,000 undergraduates and graduate students. It stands among the most ethnically and economically diverse universities in the country, with 86 percent students of color and 46 percent first-generation college students.
The university is nationally recognized for economic mobility: it leads all U.S. public universities in moving low-income students into the middle class. CSUDH also ranks first among California public universities for awarding bachelor's degrees to African American students. The economic impact extends beyond the campus: CSUDH contributes $519 million annually to the South Bay economy and sustains more than 5,600 jobs throughout the region. Its alumni network exceeds 110,000 graduates, many of whom remain in Southern California.
Families in Carson invest in education as a path forward for their children, and many have a CSUDH student or graduate in the household. That investment requires protection: a student in the first or second year of work, or a parent returning to school while raising children, needs to know that family finances would not collapse if they became unavailable. Life insurance bridges the gap between educational ambition and financial vulnerability, keeping the household stable while that education pays off.
