Oil exploration in Carson began in 1921, with the first productive well brought in by Burnham Exploration and Union Oil on September 7, 1923. The industry has since grown to encompass refineries, petrochemical operations, and the logistics infrastructure that supports them. Today, Marathon Refining Logistics Services stands as one of the largest employers in the city, with over 1,500 workers managing fuel distribution and supply-chain operations.

Beyond petroleum, Carson has become a hub for distribution and light manufacturing due to its proximity to regional highways and shipping corridors. Major employers now include See's Candy Shops, Lakeshore Learning, and PepsiCo bottling operations, reflecting a diversification away from energy alone. These facilities employ thousands of residents and support the regional economy that reaches across the South Bay.

The people who work in Carson's refineries, warehouses, and manufacturing plants depend on steady paychecks to cover family expenses and long-term obligations. Protecting that income with term life coverage ensures that a spouse, children, or aging parents are not forced to sell a home or halt an education if that income suddenly ends. Comparing quotes at the coverage amount and term length that matches these real responsibilities is where life insurance planning begins.
